BIO
Christian Cardona is a former politician, lawyer, and business leader. He was a Member of Parliament for the Maltese Labour Party from 1996 – 2020 and Minister of the Economy from 2013 – 2020.
During his time as Minister, he attracted over €2 billion in foreign direct investment and facilitated large-scale local business expansion across priority sectors. He spearheaded the development of business districts, crafts villages, and logistics hubs, transforming Malta’s commercial infrastructure; as well as leading the design and implementation of gaming, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and aviation investment frameworks, establishing Malta as a regional hub.
Since leaving politics he has become the President of Birkirkara FC, who play in Malta’s premier division, and Krateia Ventures, a multi-vertical advisory and investment vehicle active in EU residency consulting, media infrastructure, and international business development.
